Biography

Ariana Shannon received a B.A. in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Capital University in 2019, where she conducted undergraduate research in protein biochemistry and antimicrobial resistance. She began her PhD in 2019 in the lab of Dr. Amanda Hummon, applying mass spectrometry–based proteomics to characterize complex 3D cell culture systems and tumor biology. In 2024, she joined the lab of Dr. Brian Searle as a postdoctoral fellow and, in 2025, continued this work at the Mayo Clinic, where she develops proteomics and computational methods to study immuno-oncology, disease heterogeneity, and other complex biological systems, with an emphasis on improving analytical approaches for mass spectrometry–based data.
