Area of Research

Katelyn received her BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Michigan State University in 2020. During this time, she worked as a research assistant at the Michigan State University Urolith Laboratory. She then worked as a biomarker research intern at Zoetis, Inc. before pursuing her PhD in Comparative Biomedical Sciences at The Ohio State University. Her doctoral work focused on using mass spectrometry-based proteomics to study protein overlap between biofluids and urinary protein signatures of chronic kidney disease in cats. In 2025, she joined the Searle lab at Mayo Clinic as a postdoctoral research fellow in Quantitative Health Sciences. She is interested in integrating mass spectrometry-based biofluid measurements with computational biology to advance noninvasive precision approaches for chronic diseases.
